What a Kati Roll Franchise Costs

The franchise fee, the total investment, the ongoing fees and the term, what each one covers, and why the Franchise Disclosure Document has the final word.

Here are the cost figures on our franchise page, what each one pays for, and what it leaves out. One rule runs through all of it: our Franchise Disclosure Document governs. The current edition is dated April 30, 2026, and you receive it during your application.

Start with the FDD

A Franchise Disclosure Document, or FDD, is the document a franchisor gives you before you sign. It is organized into numbered items, and three of them carry the money. Item 5 covers the initial franchise fee. Item 6 covers the fees you pay once the store is trading. Item 7 sets out the estimated initial investment, line by line. When a figure on our website and the FDD differ, the FDD is the one that counts.

The franchise fee

The franchise fee is $40,000 per unit. The FDD governs, and Item 5 sets out the fee and when it is paid. The fee is what you pay to join the system as the owner of one store, and it is already counted inside the total investment below, not added on top of it.

The total investment

The estimated total investment to open one store is $394,500 to $830,000, including the franchise fee. These are estimates; the FDD governs, and Item 7 sets out the estimate line by line.

The range is wide because costs vary with the site, the market and the build. Item 7 breaks the estimate into lines such as construction and leasehold improvements; furniture, equipment and signage; initial inventory; and additional funds to carry the store through its first three months.

Equipment sits inside that build. Most equipment and furniture comes from approved suppliers you buy from directly, and certain specialized equipment comes from us. The look is part of the build too, down to the Bollywood posters on the wall.

The fees you pay as you trade

Once the store is trading, the royalty and the marketing fund are the main ongoing fees. The royalty is 6% of gross sales, and the marketing fund is 2% of gross sales. The FDD governs. Item 6 lists the rest, such as a weekly royalty minimum, local advertising and a technology fee, and sets out how each one is calculated.

Alongside the fees comes the system behind the store: our proprietary recipes, the spice blends, sauces and breads from our kitchen, POS, online ordering and digital loyalty, targeted marketing services and operational support. How We Train and Support Our Partners describes each one.

More than one store

Multi-unit agreements for 3 to 5 units are priced at $80,000 to $135,000 for the agreement, and we strongly prefer them. The FDD governs, and it sets out how a multi-unit agreement is structured. If you already run restaurants, our post for restaurant operators looks at building a group of Kati Roll stores.

The term

The standard franchise term is 10 years. The terms that run alongside it, such as renewal and transfer, are written into the franchise agreement, and the FDD governs them as well.

Financing

We do not provide financing. The capital comes from you, which is why being financially prepared is one of the five things we look for in a partner. The rest of what we look for is in What It Takes to Own a Kati Roll.

What these figures do not tell you

Nothing on this page is a forecast. The figures describe what it costs to open a store and to operate under our agreement. They say nothing about what a store will take in, and we make no promise about results.

So read the whole FDD, not only Items 5 to 7, and consider reading it with a franchise attorney and an accountant of your own. Liquid capital and net worth are not among the figures we publish. Every step that leads to the FDD is in From Inquiry to Opening, and the shorter answers are in Kati Roll Franchise Questions, Answered.

Then taste it: order a Chicken Tikka Roll at World Trade, the store in the photo at the top, and watch the line work. The figures in one table are on the franchise page.

This post is not an offer to sell a franchise. An offer is made only by a Franchise Disclosure Document delivered in accordance with applicable law.
