Hot, wrapped, and in your hand in minutes.
A kati roll is Kolkata's answer to lunch on the move. Meat or paneer marinated in spices, grilled on a skewer, folded into a buttery paratha with lime-cilantro chutney, pickled onions and a shake of chaat masala. We have made them by hand, every day, since 2002.

The rooms
Every store has a wall worth reading.
Peeling Bollywood posters, a Mother India mural, a miniature of a woman with a roll in her hand. Kolkata is in the food, so the rooms get a little cinema too.

Since 2002
Real Food. Happy People.
Payal Saha missed the street food of Kolkata when she moved to New York, so in 2002 she opened a tiny shop on MacDougal Street and made kati rolls the way she remembered them: spices ground fresh, bread from scratch, fillings straight off the grill. Anil Bathwal joined her that year. The menu is still short, still made by hand, and the shop is still there.
Welcome to a taste of Kolkata.
